Pet Resort

Located on a beautiful 7-hectare equestrian property, Chikara Stables & Pet Resort offers a peaceful and safe environment where pets can relax, play, and feel at home while their owners are away. 

The boarding facility is run by Kevin and Lynn, both passionate animal lovers who understand how important it is for pets to receive personal attention and proper care. Our small family of animals includes our own dogs, cats, rabbits, geese, and even peacocks, so caring for animals is truly part of our everyday life. 

We welcome all breeds and a variety of furry companions, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and birds. 

Unlike large commercial kennels, we offer boutique-style boarding. We intentionally keep our capacity small, with only six large runs, allowing us to provide individual attention and a calm environment for every guest. 

Our guests are not confined to kennels all day. They enjoy regular time outside in our spacious gardens where they can run, explore, and relax. 

Play Areas & Exercise 

Exercise and stimulation are an important part of your pet’s stay. 

Each guest receives playtime in our large gardens every day, and when occupancy allows, they often enjoy even more outdoor time. 

The runs include: 

• A secure outdoor area 

• A covered indoor section for comfort and shelter 

Our entire property is fully enclosed and protected with electric fencing, ensuring that all pets remain safe and secure during their stay. 

Our open property provides the perfect space for supervised walks, fresh air, and plenty of room to stretch their legs. 

Personal Care & Small Dog Stays 

Smaller dogs that are well socialised have the option to stay inside our home, where they can enjoy a more personal environment and companionship with our own dogs. 

These guests: 

• Have access to a separate garden 

• Are kept safely away from larger dogs 

• Sleep in a comfortable indoor space 

Our goal is to create a homely environment where pets feel safe and cared for, helping them settle in quickly and miss their owners a little less.

Updates & Communication 

We know how much owners miss their pets while they are away, so we regularly send: 

• Photos 

• Videos 

• Updates on how your pet is doing 

Yes — we’ve even had the occasional video call between owners and their dog! ?? 

Additional Services 

To make your experience easier, we also offer: 

• Pick-up and drop-off service 

• Feeding (although owners are welcome to bring their pet’s usual food) 

• Long-term boarding options with very reasonable rates 

We recommend bringing something familiar from home such as a blanket or favorite toy to help your pet settle comfortably. 

Health & Safety Requirements 

Because our boarding is located on a farm-style property, all pets must: 

• Have up-to-date vaccinations 

• Be treated for ticks and fleas before arrival 

This helps us maintain a healthy environment for all animals in our care.
